1. Rennes, France "[Y]ou were lent an iPad which as you went around the castle actually showed you how it would look in 3D."

Lastminute.com reviewer Dawn says, "We visited some of the smaller villages and towns and due to it been Remembrance Sunday went to Saint-Laurent-de-Curves and Tire pied to show our respect. We visited a fantastic castle in Saint-Pierre-du-Bu and Falaise in lower Normandy which was only €8 each. Fantastic value. For the price, you were lent an iPad which as you went around the castle actually showed you how it would look in 3D. Brilliant for adults and kids. Some lovely little places to eat but because of the time of year that we had gone a lot of the bars shut for the winter. Also shops shut on Mondays in France. Overall a lovely time. I liked: Visited my sister and her husband. Peace and quiet. The beautiful countryside."

2. Dublin-IE, Ireland "Sightseeing places: Dublin City centre, Dublin Castle, Kilkenny Castle."

Lastminute.com reviewer Irsheid says, "Nice city with lovely people. Cheap car parks if you use your car. It's €4. 50 for all-day parking. The town centre is full of restaurants and cafes which will give you more options for eating and drinking. There are a few shops for souvenirs around the town, on the other hand, you can go and visit the Castles and the rivers around Dublin City. Food experience: I had nice lovely food in there especially in the town centre with a lot of options for desserts. Adventurous activities: Biking, Walking, Swimming in a river, Driving up the Pint Mountain. Sightseeing places: Dublin City centre, Dublin castle, Kilkenny Castle. Romantic experience: My misses and I enjoyed the view especially when we were walking beside the lakes. Kid's experience: My kids enjoyed swimming and doing some outdoor activities plus they enjoyed the park in the castle."

5. Edinburgh, United Kingdom " Edinburgh Castle is a must..."

Lastminute.com reviewer Joy shares, "Edinburgh is a vibrant friendly city. My children are Harry Potter fans and the free tour by Edinburgh students was brilliant. The underground city/ghost tour (Mercat tours) was a little scary for my 10-year-old. However, a trip to the Cauldron to brew some mocktails armed with a wand and cloak was a fantastic experience. Edinburgh Castle is a must even if it is a little boring for kids. A great way to spend 48 hours! Sightseeing places: The Harry Potter Tour that leaves from Candlemakers Row was the best. Edinburgh Castle was good impressive but boring. Kid's experience: Brewing mocktails as The Cauldron was the best. You are given a cloak and a wand and you make mocktails following a spell card brewing them in a Cauldron. Lots of fun! I liked: The food at Waldorf Astoria's Grazing restaurant was amazing!"
