2. Fuerteventura, Spain: Did you know Fuerteventura is known as a geologists paradise?

Lastminute.com reviewer shares, "Weather was lots of rain and a little chilly at night and afternoon. Went to a lighthouse on a fossil beach. Waves were fantastic the way they broke on the shore. As a volcanic island, there were different nature reserves. Tindaya was an interesting area. Small cute villages for coffee or lunch. Drive over the mountains from Betancuria amazing views. Food in Corralejo was excellent quality and service attentive. Fillet steaks beautiful. Fresh fish is fabulous. I liked the fact that this place has diverse landscapes. A geologists paradise."

3. Sofia, Bulgaria: The Museum of Natural History offers plenty of things for kids to discover and learn

Lastminute.com reviewer shares, "The people of Sofia are very welcoming and friendly. Without the kind nature of some ordinary but very special Sofians (especially the older Lady and younger Gent who helped me on the bus and got me back to my hotel when I got lost!), My trip wouldn't be as good as it was. The National Museums collection is impressive and if that's your thing you can quite easily lose hours there. Nikola Petrov's impressionistic style blew me away. Across the road from here are the main tourist attractions like the cathedrals and Soviet-architecture and gardens, but it's the smaller churches and local markets located off the beaten track that added the authenticity I was seeking and found from Sofia. Special mention to Hadjidraganov's Houses rents where you can find old fashioned Bulgarian cuisine and atmosphere Phil."

4. Reykjavik, Iceland: What could be more unique than a relaxing dip in a thermal spa?

Lastminute.com reviewer says, "The weather was as you'd expect so there's no hidden surprises with the weather it's always going to be cold, the local cuisine was fantastic, every meal you have tasted fresh and the people serving the food were very welcoming. The building as extremely quirky and it's very picturesque. Although there was only 4 hours daylight it didn't really change anything, everything still continued as Normal. Lots of cafes for warm drinks and small bites to eat. 45 minute trip to the blue lagoon. It was brilliant. The Blue Lagoon was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed it, my girlfriend had an in-water massage and said it's possibly one of the best things she's ever done. I couldn't really put my finger on something I disliked or liked the least because of the caring nature of the community and the environment was very clean and pleasing to the eye"

Lastminute.com reviewer shares, "The weather was snowy and cold but not a problem as we were dressed for it. The Heidimork nature reserve was fantastic. Would recommend the Icelandic fish and chip shop. Would recommend the aurora exhibition."

5. Zurich, Switzerland: The base of alps are home to a variety of trees like spruce, pine, and larch trees

Lastminute.com reviewer says, "Zurich - is expensive but is of a different class compared to most of the big cities of the world. German precision, quality, safety, excellent public transport, friendly people who are ever willing to help, very honest, would love to go back once the pound picks up. We used Zurich as the base to cover most of the Swiss Alps, I am a nature lover."
