5 Ways To Experience The Alternative When You Travel
Alternative travel is a concept of travelling where there is a sort of 'unlearning' to the ways you have known. The idea is to find an alternative to the mass and show them ways to experience a more fulfilling way of travelling. Because sometimes an 'all-inclusive package tour' might not soothe your soul. Lastminute.com users suggest 5 places to discover the joys of alternative travelling.
Lastminute.com reviewer says, "Rome is amazing! Incredible food and fantastic wine, I'm gluten free and dairy free and thought I'd find myself eating a salad every night. Not so! Most restaurants cater for alternative diets now and one even went out of its way to make me gluten-free spaghetti! If you want art and great food this is your place, just remember to pack comfy shoes as there is lots to walk on cobbled streets"
Lastminute.com reviewer adds, "Weather was typical of early March with sunshine and a couple of thunderstorms. Still pleasant enough to sit out on the balcony. Good bus services meant it was easy to access the various archaeological sites. The beach promenade connecting hotels and harbour provides a very pleasant alternative way to get to the harbour."
Lastminute.com reviewer shares, "Barcelona was a beautiful city and very decently priced most places we went, far less pricey than expected based on other large city destinations. We stayed around the gothic quarter and loved the general vibe and architecture of the place, visiting several markets and museums. This is also where some of the cheapest bars and cafes can be found. If you like alternative jive bars check out Nevermind and the Manchester. Lots of places were vegetarian-friendly so it's easy to find good food. Loved the city and would go back. "
Lastminute.com reviewer shares, "Colder than I'm used to but didn't rain, loads of things to do and a variety of places to eat and different cuisines to try. Great for shopping too. Loved the Northern Quarter and Affleck's -very unique and a great place to visit if you're into alternative stuff."
