2. Rhodes, Greece "The pools were all brilliant...The water slides of course were a hit."

Lastminute.com reviewer Rebecca adds, "Weather was scorching! Food was really tasty with a wide range - great for kids too. We went to Lindos for the day on a boat. Acropolis is fascinating but it was really busy and in 37 degrees, the kids just wanted to stay in the sea - can't blame them! Hotel staff were all lovely, from the housekeepers to the waiting staff. The 'animation' team worked so hard and entertained us all. Sports, theatre, kids club - lots to do but didn't feel pressured to join in. Kid's enjoyment: All inclusive - helping themselves to food especially ice-creams and crepes. The pools were all brilliant. The more 'adult' pool was still appropriate for kids as there were small islands with fountains to play on. The water slides of course were a hit. The staff were really entertaining, funny, captivating, talented and very energetic! Swimming in the sea and snorkelling to see the fish - puffer fish too."

Even one lady she bought my daughter ice cream, very helpful people over there and so friendly I can see why they love kids so much. I liked: The way I like whenever you want to go with your family, you can choose that place Aloe Club Resort hotel as they got so many activities for you for kids, food is fresh and yummy and every night it was something for family and kids music, karaoke some magic they were showing."

4. Stockholm-SE, Sweden "Fyrishov in Uppsala is a tropical pool with flumes, lazy river & lots of fun things to do."

Lastminute.com reviewer Jennifer adds, "Sightseeing places: Uppsala was 45 minutes away and had a lovely canal/city to explore. There's also a tropical pool complex called Fryrishov which is great for kids. Sigtuna is the oldest Viking town, not many shops there but a huge lake worth seeing. Kid's experience: Fyrishov in Uppsala is a tropical pool with flumes, lazy river & lots of fun things to do. There's also a cafe so can stay for 3-4 hours. It cost us about £28 for two adults and two children. The kids loved it."

5. Faro, Portugal "They loved para sailing and also spending time at the beach..."

Lastminute.com reviewer Sukhdeed says, "Weather was perfect. We were able to sit by the pool and not feel cold. The pool was a good temperature too so kids loved it. We went parasailing, including the kids aged 7 & 8. Which was just around the corner. We had a great afternoon at mini golf just down the road. The marina had fantastic choice of restaurants and the hotel food was great too. Breakfast buffet was amazing at the hotel with so many choices and freshly made. De-stressing tips: The poolside was nice and relaxing. Not too noisy with bar/food service so close to us. The Spa inside was amazing too where the kids could come in too during the mornings. Food experience: Food was lovely in the lake resort. Chef was able to cater for vegetarian and fussy kids. Choice of restaurants was great by the Marina. Ample to choose from depending on what you like. Romantic experience: He gave me the morning off whilst keeping the kids busy so I could pamper myself. Kid's experience: They loved the para sailing and also spending time at the beach which was only 5 minutes walk away."
