Lastminute.com reviewer Andrew adds, "In [N]ice, we did the old part with lovely bars, restaurants, shops and squares. We went to the Matisse Museum, walked down the hill to the port and then round the corner and back along the promenade des Anglais. Romantic experience: It was our 20th wedding anniversary so it was all romantic. Just holding hands and walking around [N]ice was wonderful. The hotel even brought us up a bottle of champagne as a surprise.
A 30 minute train ride from nice into Monaco including the [p]alace and down into Monte Carlo for a drink, a short walk along the F1 route up to the Casino. The back streets in [N]ice, and Monaco all felt safe with wonderful architecture and of course shopping. Nice was incredible.
De-stressing tips: Cocktails and visiting the inside of some beautiful hotels.
Sightseeing places: Matisse Museum, the old quarter, the port area and Monaco, Monte Carlo. Of them all, I enjoyed the old quarter for its atmosphere and surprises around every corner.
I liked: Just the ambi[a]nce of [N]ice, the very friendly people and the variety of things to experience."
