1. Kigali, Rwanda

Take a boat trip on Lake Kivu and also visit the King's Palace

K Kenneth

It would be a great mistake to go to Rwanda and not visit the countryside, where the scenery is truly beautiful and nature parks await for those interested in wildlife. There are... a number of more affordable excursions, including a boat trip on Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu (3 hour drive from Kigali) is worth a visit. I visited the King's Palace also, which is a reconstruction about 2 hours drive from Kigali and has long-horn cattle there. In Kigali, the Genocide museum is probably the main attraction.   Read more

Really nice city. Lake Bled is amazing! I visited using Slovenia Explorer tours with their 'Slovenia in a day'. For a short visit this was a perfect day trip – half day at Lake Bled, then Predjama Castle and the Postojna Caves. For a longer trip I would recommend a minimum full day at Lake Bled. Lake Bled is a spectacular location. It exceeded my hopes.   Read more

Entebbe is a beautiful, serene town on the shores of Lake Victoria. The people are ultra friendly, the food at Faze 3 in Entebbe was just simply out of this world. I would recommend that you visit the botanical gardens and Entebbe wildlife education centre if you have time.   Read more

5. Belgrade, Serbia

Cycle around the lake, if it's warm, jump in and swim

J Jelena

It is definitely worth visiting "The Bohemian Quarter" in town to taste local cuisine... Ada lake is nice for taking a walk, cycling (can be rented for 200 dinars per an hour) or having a swim [in] the summer time. Walks by the Danube or Sava rivers, I highly recommend too. I really enjoyed walking and cycling around the Ada lake, where different sports activities can be seen to i.e . cricket, golf, rugby, etc.   Read more
