1. Rome, Italy "The park and zoo are well worth a visit and away from the crowds with stunning views."

Lastminute.com reviewer Alex says, "Weather was outstanding. Hotels around the forum and the palazzo the Venezia are very well located and easy to get to from the airport as well as navigate back to and the end of the day. We walked 20km a day enjoying the sun and the sights. However taxis and tour buses are everywhere. The park and zoo are well worth a visit and away from the crowds with stunning views. De-stressing tips: Eating and drinking in a multitude of restaurants and bars. Food experience: There's a restaurant opposite the forum with vines over the roof. It's a little expensive but a great location and superb food. Sightseeing places: Zoo, Villa Borghese Gardens, Botanical gardens, Coliseum. Romantic experience: Villa Borghese Gardens. Great weather and great views, nice strolls. Plenty of activities. Parent's experience: Vatican (with guide). I liked: Hotel was great, weather was spectacular. Lots to do and see."

There was a good variety of food to choose from, traditional restaurants and then everything else also. Small city so can see the sights in 2 days. Nice quiet place to look round and enjoy. We also went to the zoo which was a nice stroll for a couple hours (uphill). Also travelled to Vienna one day using the train. 18 euros return and you can explore Vienna too without the cost of staying in Vienna. Parent's enjoyment: Seeing the sights and just having some time away. Places you saw: Day trip to Vienna was worthwhile and easy to complete. Bratislava is a small charming place that is nice to potter around. Which park: The zoo was nice, and an Orangutan squirting water at us will live long in the memory.
