Food across the islands was exceptional. We hired a car and saw all the major sights in Malta and Gozo. I think hiring a car is essential. Malta and Gozo have a wealth of historical sites and a week was barely enough to scratch the surface. We will definitely return and again base ourselves in the Mellieha Bay Area ; being much quieter and less hectic than resorts around Valletta. Places you saw: Valletta, Mdina, Gozo, Mellieha Bay Area, Romantic on trip: The sunsets in Mellieha Bay were particularly romantic. Like most in trip: Gozo.
Weather was great, food was excellent. Beautiful Sightseeing of historical sites, dinner & cruise great, shopping at bazaars was fun haggling. Was easy to get about on the tram with top up card, sights available along the route, De-stressing tips: Dining out & cruising along the Bhosporous. Sightseeing places: Hagia Sophia, beautiful church/mosque, Blue Mosque, fabulous creative tiles, Topkapi palace, beautiful ottoman residences with outstanding artwork, Each place was beautifully different. Romantic experience: Walking in the evening, eating in the open air. I liked: I felt safe, It was worth coming to see.
The weather was fab, lovely to walk around to see the city sights such as the castle, museum, Parliament, Cathedral. Budapest is a city that I will definitely be going back to. It is so upbeat. The drink and food is reasonably cheap. The local cuisine is a must try. There is always something to do you won't be disappointed. Places you saw: We wanted to see as many historical sights typical to Budapest whilst we were there. We started off by visiting the St Stephens cathedral, the views inside were stunning! It is situated next to the most gorgeous gelato shop - the most instagramable gelato you will ever get. You need to go up to the top of the cathedral this is a must. From there you are open to the most amazing views of Budapest city. We also travelled to the Parliament building which although you cannot go inside, it is worth the trip to see the stunning building, this is very close to the cathedral. We also visited on the Buda side - Buda castle which holds the museum with so much history of Budapest from politics to the local people lives in its earlier years. We also visited the national museum of Budapest which is on the pest side but the castle was more intriguing and dramatically more informative. A couple of minutes walk away from this was the Fisherman's Bastion this was filled with so much history again and the sights from here looking over pest were spectacular. The only thing we never done was the thermal baths but this was due to lack of time and is on the top of our list for next time. Romantic on trip: There was a lovely aura about Budapest. Myself and my partner loved walking around the city and seeing the different cultural aspects. We found out there is so much culture in Budapest that we were completely unaware of such as the history behind the city itself. The city provides a romantic vibe which is no surprise given the beautiful architecture but it is also ideal for groups of people who want to get involved with the history and nightlife.
Weather was excellent as was the food. Visited the 3 Isola's, Motarrone and Locarno. A truly beautiful and unspoilt area of northern Italy, each of the grand lakes having a quite different style. Lake Maggiore is superalative. Sightseeing places: The 3 Isola's are particularly interesting to walkers, gardeners and people interested in visiting beautiful historical buildings. Motarrone in the mountains is worth a visit, where you have a Vista over the biggest of the Italian Lakes. The train and return boat trip to Locarno in Switzerland took in breathtaking scenery. Romantic experience: Candlelit dinner at one of the open air restaurants in Stresa.
Very nice and historical place. Places you saw: Old town and castle. Romantic on trip: Yes the historical town is amazing. Like most in trip: Castle.
Weather was excellent, friendly people, nice food, plenty of cultural and historical place so to see, tourist friendly. Places you saw: Museums, parks, cathedrals. Wellness activity and experience: Hotel spa. Romantic on trip: Just being there is romantic. Like most in trip: The weather.
Barcelona is one of my favourite cities. There is so much history, art, beautiful architecture, lovely food, wicked shopping and so much more. It is a clean, vibrant but relaxed city - so similar yet so different to London (if that makes any sense, I know what I'm trying to say!). Barcelona is a photogenic city thanks to its amazing, colourful, vibrant, stylish, historical yet modern features. A real beauty! Enjoy and do what you can, as when you go there once, you'll probably want to return. And return Wonderful short break. De-stressing tips: walking, eating, relaxing. Romantic experience: It was all romantic. Places on business trip: Good.
